Kolkata People's Film Festival

We kickstarted the third day of the Kolkata People’s Film Festival with “The Riyalists”, directed by Kesang Tseten. “The Riyalists” traces four young Nepali migrant men, the subjects of Tseten’s 2009 film, “In Search of the Riyal”.

The second day of the 9th Kolkata People’s Film Festival opened with the documentary “No Way Out”, directed by Shekh Al Mamun. The film delves into the horrors confronted by three migrant workers who move to Korea from Nepal and Bangladesh in search of livelihood.

The 9th Kolkata People’s Film Festival opened with “A Night of Knowing Nothing”, directed by Payal Kapadia. The film is narrated by L, a university student who writes letters to her lover during a period of forced separation.

Day Four of the 8th Kolkata People’s Film Festival commenced with a packed hall and the audience filing into the balcony. We kicked off the screenings with Gay India Matrimony, directed by Debalina.
