For the first time, we are able to share a part of our programme with audiences outside of Denmark. So if you live in Europe (or Montserrat) and you’ve always wanted to watch more thought-provoking and ambitious ethnographic storytelling from around the world, now’s your chance!

What unites people in the face of changes in their natural surroundings? This block features films that will take you on a journey of collaborative storytelling.

In an ever-changing world, where the need for urbanization, agriculture and developing infrastructure clashes with nature, capitalism is alive and well. Even in the remotest corners of the world there is a need for expansion and development.

This block explores the dramatic stories of resilience in the face of violent environmental degradation. Whether it’s volcanic eruptions in Mexico or Montserrat, landslides in Northern Italy, or the world’s largest e-waste in Ghana, all these documentaries showcase how humans can respond with empowerment even in the context of natural catastrophes.
